Kathleen McCartin

I have always worked with wool as is crewel, needlepoint, and knitting. About 10 years ago I became interested in felting. I have taken many classes and have a studio where I work. I am retired and consider felting to be a passionate hobby. I love the flexibility and challenge of working with wool roving. The end results are always a bit of a surprise. The more I work, the more ideas come to me and I love the tactile feel of
working with wool.

I began by working as a clerk at Woods Hall and then started selling my work there. I am a member of the Arts Management Committee and have been active in many ways for ten years. It is a place filled with creative people who encourage and support one another. I have been coming to the Island since 1970 and have had a second home here for 22 years.
